Filipino Spanish and Global Cuisines
A tradition of serving world-class Filipino-Spanish and Global cuisines to its discriminating patrons
House Special
When in Manila, local and foreign visitors find us an indispensable stop for an experience of the country’s best features — wonderful food, warm hospitality, and beautiful culture. In the tradition of distinction, our menu is an exciting offering of local heritage cuisine — Paella Ilustrado, Adobong Bagnet with Crab Fat, Callos Madrileña, and the buzz-worthy Sampaguita Ice Cream. Inspired dishes all worthy of the Ilustrado signature. We invite you to taste wonderful flavors and spend time in our idyllic yet humble space.
Catering and Events
When it comes to catering for special occasions, Ilustrado is the first choice of business clients and VIPs. Whether servicing the most private soirées at home or the most spectacular events in a ballroom, we bring with us over 30 years of F&B experience. We are a proud accredited caterer for many event venues in and around Metro Manila.
About Us
In October 1989, husband and wife team Boni and Rose Pimentel launched Ilustrado, the first fine dining restaurant in the Walled City of Intramuros. These “original foodies,” and partners in both life and business, were inspired by the passion for fine dining to open a restaurant where discerning diners could sample both Filipino-Spanish and modern global cuisine of the highest caliber.
Customer Feedback & Reviews
If you are looking for an elevated Filipino home-cooked meal, this is the best place to go. I loved their puto and dinuguan, best recipe, very homey yung taste. Their ube drinks are great as well. We’ve also tried their sampaguita ice cream which is not in the menu. It tasted a bit sweet for me, could be better if the sampaguita flavor is not too overwheming. All in all, I will go back here for the dinuguan and the mains as well.

A timeless 3rd wedding anniversary with lunch at Ilustrado was a great decision. The historical ambiance in Intramuros provided a relaxed yet elegant setting that made our milestone feel special.
We were really pleased with the service; the staff were attentive and professional throughout our meal. As for the food, the Beef Salpicao was a definite highlight—very tender and flavorful. We also enjoyed the Palabok, Carbonara, and Pollo, finishing everything off with a well-made Irish Coffee. Overall, it was a memorable anniversary lunch with great vibes and solid food.

Had the chance to grab a quick dinner here after hearing it’s a popular spot in the area. The host guided me to my seat right away, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated.
The food was okay and satisfying for a quick meal. The location is also convenient, very close to Intramuros, which makes it a nice stop if you’re exploring the area.
Overall, a good spot for a casual meal with great service.

My husband brought me here for date night, and I must say, the food is excellent, the ambiance is perfect, and the music made it even better. Live music truly enhances the experience. Dates in Intramuros will always hold a special place in my heart. I highly recommend trying this restaurant on your next trip to Intramuros if you are looking for that perfect Filipino touch. Lots of parking too!

Right in the heart of Intramuros, Ilustrado captures the essence of historic Manila. The cafe has a much more casual feel than the main dining area. The lomi overload is nostalgic, filling and highly recommended.
